Well hidden in a protected natural area, the Domaine du Châtelard is surrounded by 80 ha of rolling meadows and woods and occupies a beautiful house built in the 18th and 19th centuries in what was an agricultural estate until 1950. The former owner, who made it a second residence, owned several cinemas in Angoulême and invited actors and other celebrities. To give even more prestige to the places, he drowned the meadows below, thanks to a dike on the river, creating a magnificent lake of 10 ha with turquoise waters, where one can canoe-kayak in summer. Then resold, the manor was transformed into a charming hotel with 12 rooms now renovated, elegant, comfortable and all different, 5 of which overlooked the lake. An outdoor swimming pool, a tennis court, a petanque area and large gardens complete the infrastructure, without forgetting the restaurant opening onto the terrace, where tables pleasantly installed allow to enjoy the landscape and gastronomic dishes.
